  I am Mrs Cross, the very lucky Headteacher of Roecroft Lower School. I have worked at Roecroft now for 20 years and am in my ninth year as Headteacher.

  My teaching specialisms were English, SEND, and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I now pride myself on my thoughtful, honest leadership, strong motivational skills, and commitment to helping both staff, pupils and their families thrive.

  I have huge belief in learning and education and am always learning, having most recently myself completed the National Professional Qualification of Executive Leadership

  I live in a rural village in Cambridgeshire with my husband, Richard, our two children Clover and Oakley, aged 16 and 11, and our much loved sausage dog, Gus.

  I have been teaching at Roecroft for 10 years. I lead on many areas of school life including safeguarding and the curriculum. I also lead our values based education which encompasses positive behaviour and pupil well-being. I run staff induction in school and mentor our early career teachers. I have vast teaching experience in Key Stage 1 and am the deputy lead moderator for the local authority for this age range.

  I am the Head of Early Years at Roecroft and have been very fortunate to have been teaching at our school for the last 17 years. I am very committed and passionate about all things Early Years, supporting transitions from nurseries and pre-schools into school and supporting all children to achieve their own potential throughout their first year in school. I also work with colleagues at Central Bedfordshire Local Authority to deliver training to Early Years staff across the county too. Within school I am part of the DSL team as well as overseeing all the educational trips and visits that take place outside of the school building.

  I am ecstatic to be working in the wonderful Goslingclass. I have been teaching in lower schools for over 13 years and have experience in the Early Years and have also taught in KS1 and KS2. I am particularly passionate about working in the Early Years and strive to foster a fun, nurturing and safe environment in which all children feel valued and can thrive. In addition to being a class teacher, I am the Art subject lead, a role I am very much looking forward to getting stuck into.

  I began my teaching career at Roecroft in 2019, and I am incredibly proud to be the Duckling Class teacher. I have a genuine passion for working with our youngest learners and love supporting them as they take their first steps on their school journey.

  I am committed to helping every child grow and develop across all areas, while creating a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels happy, valued and confident to learn. I believe that learning should be fun and love seeing the children's curiosity grow as they explore, discover and make sense of the world around them. I also place great importance on encouraging independence and fostering a lifelong love of learning from the very beginning of their school journey.

  Alongside my role as a class teacher, I am also the RE Subject Lead.

  This will be my 7th year working within Roecroft. I started as a Midday Supervisor and slowly transitioned into EYFS, offering extra support across all three classes.

  Currently, I work in Reception's Duckling class as a Learning Support Assistant. My favourite subject to support is Art and I get to use my creative skills for display work and our fun role play areas.

Year 1

  I am the current teacher for Puffin class and this is my third-year teaching at Roecroft Lower School. I really enjoy teaching in Year 1, particularly teaching phonics and developing reading and writing! I am also the subject leader for Geography, ensuring progression of skills and knowledge throughout the year groups. Prior to attending university, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant for two years which provided me with a lot of knowledge and experience to build on during my university course and placements.

  I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for children to blossom, achieving their full potential, as well as developing their love of learning.

  I have been teaching for over 15 years and am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, happy and engaging learning environment. I understand the importance of making learning enjoyable, meaningful and accessible for every child. I love bringing lessons to life through fun, creative and hands-on activities, while encouraging children to become confident, curious and independent learners. My aim is to make every child feel valued, supported and excited to come to school each day. I have worked in many schools and honestly believe Roecroft is the best place to work!

  I have worked at Roecroft for the last 9 years as a Learning Support Assistant within KS1.
  On a daily basis I support children with their learning either on a one to one basis or within a group setting. I thoroughly enjoy motivating children to achieve their full potential.

  Hello, my name is Mrs Snowden and I work in Robin class, I enjoy being in the classroom and helping the children during their lessons. I am also a Midday Supervisor at lunchtime which allows me time to interact with children across all years as they have fun during the lunch hour.

  Outside of school I love spending time with my family and keeping fit.

 

Year 2

  I have been teaching for many years across Key Stages 1 and 2 in a range of schools and have loved gaining experience in different settings. For the past six years, I have been lucky enough to be part of the Roecroft team. I currently teach Year 2 in Owl Class, where I enjoy helping children grow in confidence and achieve their potential. Throughout my career, I have taken on a variety of responsibilities and I am currently the subject leader for PSHE, British Values and Healthy Schools.

  I have been teaching for seven years and have taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in a variety of schools. I have gained lots of experience in Key Stage 1 and absolutely love working with this age group.

  I have been teaching Year 2 in Nightingales Class since February and really enjoy creating a safe, fun and engaging learning environment where children can develop their confidence and determination.

  Whilst at university, I fell in love with Forest School and went on to become a qualified Forest School Leader. Throughout my career, I have also taken on responsibility as a subject lead and I am currently the Music Lead. I really enjoy helping children develop a love of learning and supporting them to become confident, independent learners.

  I have been teaching at Roecroft for over 9 years and have experience in KS1 and KS2. I am the Subject lead for Design and Technology, which I love as prior to teaching I was an Engineer. My role allows me to pass on my Engineering skills by supporting staff and teaching children a wide range of practical skills required for a modern practical environment. I am currently in year 2 with swan class where I enjoy helping the children reach their full potential.

  I have worked with children my whole career, and most recently I'm enjoying my time as a 1-1 at Roecroft.

  I have a degree in childhood education and I have worked mostly in EYFS but also many various other roles. The joy you get from seeing a child put into practice what you have taught them is so rewarding, and as a 1-1 I've learnt so much.

  Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, I enjoy gardening, art and painting and spending weekends at steam rallies.

  I have worked in Roecroft for many years now across reception and year 2 as a learning support assistant. I used to go to Roecroft as a child, so I know the school very well. I love seeing the children thrive and experience new things throughout their day. I'm a child at heart and enjoy getting to know every child making them feel safe and proud of themselves.

  I'm currently the Assistant Headteacher at Roecroft and Kestrel class teacher in Year 3. Alongside my class teaching responsibilities, my role includes working on school data and assessment to help maintain excellent educational outcomes in all year groups. I've been working at the school for 17 years now and have extensive teaching experience in Key Stage 2.

  I have been teaching at Roecroft for 20 years. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to teach classes in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and currently teach Kingfisher class in year 3. I have had a vast experience of many subject leads over my time at Roecroft, but for the most time I have led Science where I achieved our silver PSQM award and then later reaccredited it to a Gilt PSQM award.

  This will be my 8^th year at Roecroft. For 7 years I was an LSA in Year 4 but this year I am the LSA for Kestrel Class in Year 3. I work in groups and on a 1:1 basis in and outside of the classroom with children that may need a little extra support with their learning. It is such an amazing privilege to watch these children become more confident and progress in all areas and grow to reach their full potential.

  Hi, my name is Miss Sumal. This is my fifth year working at Roecroft - I started working in Year 3 and then moved up to Year 4 and have been there ever since. I enjoy working with small groups of children with my Mental Maths and Reading Comprehension groups and love helping the children prepare to take their next steps moving up to their new schools.

  Outside of school my hobbies are rollerskating, reading, playing badminton and relaxing and meditation.

  I'm Miss Kenny and I currently work supporting the Year 4, Kite Class children with their learning. I have worked as a Learning Support Assistant at Roecroft for rather a lot of years... 16 at the last count! You may also recognise me from my other role working at Pippin Pre-School in the breakfast, after school and holiday clubs. This means I am in the happy position of having known some of the children right through their journey from pre-school to Year 4.

  Outside of school I love spending time with my friends and family and pottering around on my allotment. I have also spent the last six years completing a BSc in psychology with The Open University.

  This is my third year at Roecroft Lower School and I am excited to be joining the Year 4 team and being Hawk's class teacher. In my first two years I was Puffin class teacher in Year 1 and learnt so much from other colleagues which allowed me to get stuck into the teaching role. This year, I am looking forward to stretching my teaching abilities further, teaching a more challenging curriculum and getting the best out of the children. In Hawk class, learning is fun and engaging in which all children have the opportunity to shine in their own individual way.

  I have been working at Roecroft Lower School since 2016, working in both Year 3 and Year 4. I enjoy preparing our Year 4 pupils every year for the next stage of their learning journey when they leave us at the end of the year. I manage this transition by meeting regularly with their next schools and helping them to become confident, independent and resilient learners. I also oversee the teaching of English at Roecroft, I hold an NPQ in leading literacy and enjoy working alongside my teaching colleagues to enhance our curriculum and promote a love of all things reading and writing.

  I have been working at Roecroft for a few years now. I started as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant working in KS2 and currently work in Year 1, Penguin class as the class Learning Support Assistant, supporting small groups of children in and out of the classroom.

  I'm Mrs Senior, I have been at Roecroft quite a few years, working in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4! At present I am working in Year 3 and I also help out with Breakfast Club and after school Enrichment club. I enjoy working with the children helping them progress in their learning.

  In my spare time I enjoy gardening and being outdoors.

  Hi, I am Miss Timmis and I currently work in Kingfisher class as a Learning Support Assistant. I am also a Midday Supervisor at lunchtimes for the lovely Penguin class. I love supporting children with all aspects of their learning.

  Outside school I love spending time with my children, walking and watching Formula 1!

  I have been working at Roecroft for 3 years now, starting as a classroom TA. I am privileged to work with all the year groups at Roecroft. I provide cover for classes when the teachers have their PPA time. I get to know lots of children across the school, teaching subjects such as Geography, History, DT, French and Music.

  I have worked for the last 6 years as an LSA at Roecroft, supporting our wonderful children with their learning journey. Now I have taken on the role of covering teachers for their PPA time. I currently cover Reception through to Year 3, teaching such subjects such as Music, Art, Re, Geography and my favourite History. Outside of work I enjoy dog training and can often be found exploring historical places in my free time.

 

SEND Team

  In school I oversee the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy. I support staff with the identification of children with special educational needs, while also drawing on my many years of teaching experience to provide staff with the support needed, to ensure that pupils are fully able to access school life and reach their full potential.

  My role is to support children with developing their speech and language needs. I work with class teachers and LSAs to support the delivery of activities provided by the NHS Speech therapists who assess the children in school. I have regular contact with parents to keep them involved in the process and track the children's progress accordingly.

  During the school day I run a variety of nurture-themed interventions on a 1:1 basis and in small groups for children who need social and emotional support through playing games, discussion, and art activities. As a school we work closely with external agencies to help us identify children who need support and give us guidance on the best way to help our children and families in difficult times.

  I've worked in the school office at Roecroft since 2020 and really enjoy the variety involved in this role. My main responsibilities are pupil attendance and admissions, monitoring staff absences and booking staff training, creating the school newsletter, and Stotfold News updates along with first aid, general reception duties and clerical support.

  I have worked for Roecroft since June 2022 in the School Office and have really enjoyed the variety of work in my role, from first aid which lets me get to meet some of the children to coordinating clubs and trips. No day is the same here and it is a lovely place to work.

  I have been at Roecroft for nearly 18 months. I initially started as a Midday Supervisor then also took on an extra role as a Learning Support Assistant this academic year, becoming playground lead and working alongside the midday team. I love working at Roecroft and am looking forward to the opportunities and learning that come with the jobs that I do within the school.

  I have been part of the Roecroft family for the past 18 months. I currently work in Key Stage 2 as a 1:1 LSA, I thrive watching the children in my class learning and interacting with their peers. When I joined the school I took on the role of Senior Midday Supervisor, and still enjoy this job everyday. Doing this role gives me the pleasure to spend time with every child in the school daily.
